53 x 53 cm
Contemporary white box frame, with glass
Fabric, papers, threads, ink, conte pencil, found objects, paper mache
In a timeless and traditional blue and white theme, this small delicate work manifests a plethora of surprising shapes and textures telling a visual story about my interior past winter season.
The pristine landscape is punctuated by exquisite little "artefacts" ; separate but related; symbolising states, events, episodes and possibilities...
Some are "found", like the fragment of willow-ware unearthed from my garden (depicting a bridge!)
Others are "made"; stitched, blown, applied, woven, layered...
Oh my heart!
Full of traps and full- stops, doors ajar and shut, treasures; what melting, cracking, patching and flowing is going on....
A lot happens under the surface, and is sometimes revealed.
FOR GOD IS GREATER THAN OUR HEARTS, AND HE KNOWS EVERYTHING.
