At the time, we were living in a house that we did not have
much of an affinity with, as far as houses go (just a personal preference),
although grateful to have a house at all...
There’s always
something good to be found though, and the front rooms did have wonderful
elevated views over the gum-tree tops. I had woken before dawn, and my “dreaming” in the darkness took the form of rustic
cottages with diamond-paned windows, which I have always liked, evoking
memories of my late grandparents’ home in Melbourne...... and Gran’s spiky
pink Japonica bush!
The sunrise stole into my room then, with a stunning pink and gold glory, silhouetting the gums.
I realised it was not about the
type of windows that mattered too much, but the sight afforded through them!
I also felt “Promise”, like movement in the darkness; the “shshshsh” of gliding
wings, past the window; of good things here on earth; and of heavenly mansions with a
lot more than diamond-paned windows!
All this unknown still, yet coming swiftly in time.
